Having grown up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Yolanda was surrounded with the natural beauty of the landscape and had access to many art galleries and art museums. This gave her an early appreciation for the arts. Her extensive travels have also helped to foster her knowledge of the classical arts.

Color is one of the most exciting challenging aspects of painting. Yoloanda selects her colors carefully so that they work together in harmony. Her favorite painting media are oils and soft pastels. Besides painting plein air landscapes and still life, she enjoys painting an occasional portrait and teaching young students to draw and paint.

Yolanda has participate in group and solo exhibits over the years. She has recieved several awards for her paintings. Her desire is to delight viewers with her work by attempting to express the grandeur of god's creation in her art.
